Snapshots of the week: The Barn Swallows @ The Ritz

Last night, an upcoming local band, The Barn Swallows were playing at the Ritz Detroit. I've been coming to their shows every now and then, but they are now seriously considering more content for their music. So I'm planning on shooting more photos for them as well as video. Here's some shoots I got from my Canon 70D with a 50mm. I also set up my new GoPro Hero 4 Black around the stage for some shots (unfortunately most came out blurry).

Some of the shots were flooded with a Red light. I used the advice of converting those to Grayscale, since the color Red works well under grayscale. Here's some of the shots that I converted. They have some strong, grainy accents that compliment an older feel of concert photography.

Tour De Troit - The Sequel

READY. SET. RIDE!

Today was my second embarking on the high anticipated Tour De Troit. Having experienced this before, I came well equipped with extra tubes, tools, food, and of course my Canon 70d. If you ever want to experience Detroit other than a quick drive by on I-94. I highly suggest taking the city by bike. For those naysayers, the city is very bike friendly. This event which tops at 7,000 bicycles does well in the city. On top of that there is great bicycle scene in the city with the Slow Roll group now pushing a couple thousand on their weekly rides. This ride took us EVERYWHERE in the city. From the famous abandoned train station to the Packard Plant to Belle Isle and more. Including lesser known hot spots such as Indian Village, Lincoln Art Park and Mexicantown. So if you haven't considered, I say get on your bike and head to Detroit. Take a chance to see the city in details rather than in a blur.
