The Art of Progression
This weekend I had a moment of great satisfaction. I had this poster design in the works and found out that H.R. Rustica just got into the Battle of the Bands event at Oakland University. It was great timing as I had a good excuse to put this poster out for the big event. I was afraid to rush it though, It started off with the vector portrait of Michelle screaming into the mic, but I didn't know exactly how to fill in the rest of the space. After an evening of idea after idea, I finished the poster.
To me it felt like a milestone and it's a part of what I love about what I do. Getting involved in a project that requires you to go to a level you've never been to, sometimes wondering whether you could get there. But you make it! You make something you never thought you could ever make. That is progress.
H.R. Rustica Music Video Premiere
Working along side with H.R. Rustica, going to various shows and rehearsals. I've finally been able to compile a music video of what it's like to be with the band. For more information, you can find them on facebook.
Snapshot of the Week
Snow was still on the ground, yet this Sunday morning somehow felt like the first day of spring! With the sun shining on our backs, me and H.R. Rustica took it to Armada, where the band's roots began. We visited the grainery for some shoots at the trail and the old existing wooden facade, then a quick detour to the studio in town. Finally with time on our side, we strolled through downtown, talking about the hot spots, the history. It made me realize how much we value our roots. It will always be our home and that will never change.
